Collapsible core demoulding | collapsible pipe fitting mold supply

The collapsible core demoulding system consists of core and cavity,
which are the main part in the mould structure, which is characterized by the following: 

the fixed bar is in the main core,outside which is the sliding rail.In the sliding cavity there is the active cavity and in the active cavity the stiffening rib is installed next to the fixed bar.In the middle of the stiffening rib there is the locating slot,and outside is the belling core.The belling core is consisted of the large sliding block and the small one,which work with clamping plate.

Between the large and small sliding block,there are two active slots.
One is connected with the lower surface of the locating slot ,in the middle of which a pad is installed, and a baffle plate is located. A support plate of small sliding block is installed between active slot and the slot of stiffening rib,above which is the support plate of the large sliding block.The large one has the other baffle plate, and they are connected with each other, the top of the baffle plate is connected with draw bar,and the deaw bar is driven by the hydro-cylinder.

Bi injection and over molding

A, double color injection mold

the only injection machine injects two kinds of plastic material. The product forms by 2 times but depanning once. Generally this molding craft is called double material injection, which is finished by only one mold. But it must be implemented in the special double color injection machine.


B, over molding

two kinds of plastic material may not injected by only one machine, and the product forms by 2 times. It will be injected in the other mold after being removed from first mold for the first injection. So generally this type of injection craft is finished in two sets of mol
ds but doesn’t need special injection machine.


Overview: 

Designing over molding, we should pay attention to the fixed position of hard plastic pieces. There must be anti rank hole on the piece which can prevent frictional pullar from deformation.

Double color injection mold becomes more and more popular. Because the outlook of products can be more nice by this craft. and it is easy to change colors, without spraying as well. However the cost of manufacture is high and technical requirements are needed more.

1, cavity has 2 different shapes that form different products separately. 2 shapes on the core are totally same. 

2, front and back mold must be coincided after both of them rotate 180 degree. This checking action must be designed in advance.

3, we should pay attention to the position of ejector pin hole, of which min distance is 210mm. the number of ejector pin holes should be increased in bigger mold. Because ejector pin of injection machine is not long enough, we must length it when we are designing the mold. Ejector pin can reach 150mm higher than mold base plate. Back mold base plate is made with 2 locating rings.

4, the total thickness of front mold panel and plate a is not less than 170mm. please check this specification and other reference data of machine, such as max and min mold containing thickness, distance of ejector pin hole etc.

5, the gate of three plate mold had better demold automatically. Especially for the soft plastic material.

6, the depth of former sprue can’t be over 65mm. the distance from the top of upside sprue (side gate) to the centre of mold base is not less 150mm.

7, when designing the second shape, we can design a part of clearance on the cavity for fear of scratching sprue position of first formed product. We also consider the intensity of sealing carefully.

8, when first injecting, product dimensions can be molded little bigger which can let the product press to the other cavity more closely, for sealing of second injection.

9, when second injecting, we must be sure whether the plastic flow will rush out the first forming product, if it is possible; we must try to find way.

10, before a and b plate closing, please pay attention to slider and lifter of front mold which returns to crush the product. Thus, slider and lifter should return after a and b closing.

11, waterway of 2 parts on both cavity and core must be arranged fully and evenly.

12, because soft plastic reformat easily, mostly we inject hard plastic part on product firstly and then soft plastic part.

1. What is bi-injection or dual injection molding?

3. The limit of Bi-injection or double injection molding

B. The compatibility between two plastic materials should be as little as well, if more will result in the two plastic cannot unite very well or difficult in molding. So we need choice reasonable compatibility in two kinds different plastic material, usually we used plastic collocation such as PP+TPE, ABS+AC, CA+EVA, HDPE+PA6, SAN+PVAC etc…on Bi-injection.


4. How dose bi-injection mould and machine work?

Bi-injection machine has two separate hopper and two barrel (in picture 1 and 2) for two different material or different colors plastic material injection, As for the mould ,it must be have two components separate cavity and core, A and B, for two different plastic prices. First, barrel 1 jet into cavity A, after holding, cooling and open mould, the semi-manufactures stay in core A, Then rotation system of Bi-injection machine will rotate mould by 180 degree. Then start second jet, two barrel jet at same time, after plastic of other component into cavity B, then two plastic will unite, finally, end product finish.

IML labels raw material

Normally, IML labels raw material is PP,PE or PP and PE mixed co-polymer. Labels have three layers.The first layer is optimum seal layer, second is main layer,the third is hot melt glue layer. 

IML labels must have good venting function, When it fusing with plastic part,venting will impact production surface.In addition, it should be for electrostatic treating after printing, otherwise it will affect in mold labeling quality.

Now I introduce three methods for electrostatic treating:

1.Chemical elimination method:
coat anti-electrostatic agent on the surface of IML labels. but chemical elimination method has bad effect, it may be bad for labels quality,such as strong,adhesive quality.This method is not suggest to used.

2.Physics elimination method: 
under to condition that keep IML label raw material nature, using electrostatic itself character to eliminate the electrostatic,This method is commonly used in industrial production.

3.Humidity control elimination method: 
IML labels surface electric resistance will be reduce when air humidity increasing.the good printing workshop condition:temperature is 20 degree,relative humidity is more than 70 degree.

Gas assisted chair mold solution

Gas assisted molding is widely used in manufacturing hollow plastic parts, light weight but strong strength. Especially for chair mold, then how to manufacture good quality gas assisted chair mould?

First the material used. Here are three solutions:
1. pure PP
2. PP plus filler (calcium carbonate)
3. PP plus glass fiber
If go first way, it is very easy to cause shrinkage, as chair corner part is very thick.
If go second, chair appearance will be polisher than with fiber. 
But usually we suggest the last, and go PP + 15% glass fiber. Although chair part can not be same polish as the second because of fiber special specification, but it is easier to blow gas. Besides, it has more strength and tenacity.

Before chair mould design, need to have mold flow analysis to better understand material flow, gas blowing channel and all related issues. And suggest valve gate system, compared to normal hot runner, it can completely solve mould flash during air blowing.

PMMA PC PET transparent parts molding technology

What's the difference between PET mould, PC mould? 
What should be paid attention to when injecting transparent parts 
separately in PMMA, PC and PET?
First let’s discuss about final product and plastic raw material issue.

1) Transparent parts do not quire any bubble,
flow mark or other quality problem that can influence transmittance. 

2) Raw material must be clean, need drying before injecting

3) Barrel and screw of injection machine should be clear, no any waste material 

4) Raw material plasticizing time not too long, if something emergency happen need to stop machine work, lower the material temperature. (PC, PMMA lower than 160℃, PET lower than 240℃)


And of course the most important is the molding technology, check below: 

1) Wall thickness of final products should be uniform,
height of thinnest part should no less than 1mm ( PET part can be little thinner)

2) The transition of different dimensions should be smooth 

3) Runner section should be large but short passway, 
  cavity and runner appearance should be smooth (surface roughness no large than 0.4um )

4) Make sure smooth air venting

5) Cold slug needed 

6) Back pressure of injection machine not too high 

7) Injecting pressure should be high, but should not too high to influence demoulding

8) Try low injection speed on the base of perfect fulfill mould cavity

9) Pressure keeping time and injection cycle time should not be too long 

10) To ensure final product’s appearance transparency, the less mould releasing the better

Why China mold costs differ so much from different companies?

Mold cost is another headache problem for worldwide customers. Many clients of mine ask me why your mold cost is much higher, compared to the quotation of other factories, it seems all the same. 
This article I will tell you the truth, also share you how to find the most suitable mold cost. 
Maybe for a mould project, price difference can reach about 30% or more or less, I don't feel strange, because here is in China. Most of people promise you A, but after you confirm order and give deposit, they give you B! And the difference between A and B is huge! For example they quoted you P20 China, but they don't use real P20, they bought 45C, then heat treatment it, the hardness only on surface of steel, inside steel very soft! 
I do not agree China mold is bad, actually it is more and more good. But above issue is real exist, at the same time, worldwide customers do not know which Chinese mold maker is good quality, those bad businessmen catch this loophole, thus influence the reputation of China mold. 
How we do? We use not only the real prehardened steel with HRC required, but also we make standard mold base, it can be any international standard like DME or Hasco! Only these 2 points 30% difference in price is not enough to pay for them. Also our molds will be built adjustment and easy to maintain, because we put lots of wear plates to protect all places easier to get worn.

How to find the good mold maker in China? This question has confused so many years for worldwide customers, and it will continue to those who plan to start new factory of plastic parts manufacturing.
In this article, I will share some personal opinions about Chinese mold makers, and how to choose the right one. If I'm lucky enough, this article can be read by your side, highly welcome different opinions and also mould inquiries. 
So let's start the topic. 
Unless you know Chinese plastic injection molding industry very well, otherwise the common and widely used searching way is by Google, typing for example "china top ten mould manufacturers", "China xxxx mould makers", and then click the first one or two pages companies, check their websites in a first sight. 
Trust me, the more good quality mold manufacturer, the least advertisement they make. Because here in mainland China especially injection molding industry, they already gain their reputation, customers mainly introduced to them from other factories, like plastic machinery manufacturers, even other mold makers. First, they have continusly orders; second, usually they pay attention to high quality mould, win-win long term cooperation with customers. So they get profits and do not care how many sets mould quanities each year they get orders. Also no need to pay extra money to advertise themselves.

And here is another interesting thing, worldwide customers usually want to see very big company before place new orders, large employees, large workers. it seems only big company can make them feel safe mold making. But do not forget, the larger company, the larger management cost, and this cost usually take from the mould profit. It is common as we know. Also delivery time problem, project procedure problem.

And for many mold factories in China, they have good knowledge of molding technics, know how to make an excellent performance moulds. But their shoratge is, they don't know how to show themsevles, means they don't know marketing. See, that's the problem. That's why small companies with good quality mold making ability not well known by customers. And sometimes customer choose the big factory to make the mould and cost much higher, but mould quality is not good.
